Dazzling Tots

The fundraiser for the month of April will be held on Saturday the 15^th. In this we will be having a bake sale. All parents should have received in the mail a letter describing the day and a response card of who will be helping and what will be brought. If you have not already sent in the response card with the times you would like to help, please do so ASAP!! We encourage parents, as well as, students to help out. If you are not able to help, please respond by marking that you will not be able to attend.

The money raised will go towards expanding our reading center. With this we will be able to build more shelves and supply the shelves with new books. We hope to see you all there!

New Gymnasium

With our new Gym, we would like the children to bring, if possible a nice pair of tennis shoes. These shoes should only be worn for gym class inside and PE classes held in the gym.

The reason for this is to help preserve our new wood floors. By wearing new or nice shoes on the floor, this ensures that no rocks or other objects will harm the wood. If there are any concerns with this, please feel free to speak with Mr. Jenkins or your child's teacher and we can work out the situation.

Field Trip

The students will be taking a filed trip to the blacksmith shop on Tuesday April 5, 2000 at 10:30am. The bus will be leaving at 10:15am and we will be returning at 11:45am.

We will be going to visit Mr. Howard, where he is going to explain to the children what his job is and describe the processes involved in making the things that he does. This will go along with a chapter we will be studying on careers and the history of careers.

Book Orders

Just wanted to remind you that book orders are due on Monday, April 4, 2000.

Weekly Plan

3/20 Monday. We will be talking about different cultures and introduce those cultures to the children.

2/22 Wednesday. We will be going outside and looking at the leaves on the trees. We will talk about the different kinds and colors.

2/23 Thursday. We will be discussing number concepts. With this we will interact with manipulatives to help the children understand.

2/24 Friday. We will be making kites in class and experimenting with what will help them fly.

Reminder

Please send in your response cards about the bake sale so that we know how many volunteers to expect.

Just wanted to thank you all for the book orders so far this year. With every order I receive bonus coupons to collect. With a large amount of these bonus coupons I can receive free books. This year the class decided we were going to send our coupons to Mrs. Kendall's class, who needed new books.

I received a stack of letters from children in her class who received our coupons In the letters they said how they were happy and thankful for our gratitude. So thank you very much from Mrs. Kendall's class.
